Peridot is an August Birthstone, Peridot is known to bring a sense of safety and calmness as well as special healing benefits. In ancient Egyptian times, peridot was called "Emerald of the Evening", and was a favorite gemstone of Cleopatra. Peridot is thought to bring good luck, reduce jealousy and resentment, and encourage an overall positive outlook. Peridot is mined in Arizona, and found all over the world such as Pakistan: known for large gems and lime green apple colors, China, and Myanmar. Peridot has also been found in rare Pallasite meteorites. When sliced open, these rare meteorites reveal a mesmerizing web of gleaming green or yellowish-green olivine crystals suspended in a glowing iron-nickel matrix.
